Selected Film
In this short film from the series "Magnicides," a historical fiction series that explores the most impactful political assassinations in Latin America, the life and tragic end of Salvador Allende is deeply examined. As the first Marxist to become president of a country through general elections, Allende implemented significant reforms in Chile, including the nationalization of mining and an ambitious agrarian reform. However, his government faced fierce opposition, culminating in the coup d'état led by General Augusto Pinochet in 1973. Through a narrative of thriller and investigative approach, the short film reconstructs the events that led to Allende's downfall, who refused to resign and died defending his mandate in La Moneda palace. The film not only revives his struggle and legacy but also questions the forces and motives behind his assassination, exploring the repercussions of his death in contemporary history.
