When we lost the fear

25 years have passed since the Water War, the massive popular mobilization that permitted the recovery of not only the public management of water in the face of a violent attempt of privatization, but also made visible other forms of water management that go beyond the state and the private. The years go by but the memories are still alive in the protagonists: Lourdes teaches her son the human values learned in the gasifications; the journalists look for new directions in the face of the renewed lack of rights; the irrigators administer the blood of the Pachamama far from the hands of the companies; Oscar returns to the balcony from which he launched the speech of victory, knowing that the energy of the people has not faded, it has only fallen asleep momentarily. This is a journey with a “cool head” on the facts of this War to realize that the cycle continues, new scenarios of exploitation and environmental destruction are presented, in front of which the indignation and the need for change of 25 years ago have to be more than just memories.
