Monteagudo 1825

Lima, the capital of the viceroyalty of Peru, is in a state of unrest. An authoritarian Simón Bolívar has replaced José de San Martín in leading the independence war against the Spaniard Empire. With Bolívar returns to Lima the feared former Prime Minister, Bernardo Monteagudo, an afro-descendant pro-independence lawyer, and Colonel, who retakes his aggressive anti-Spaniard, anti-slavery, and pro-education policies that made him feared and hated by aristocrats and politicians alike.
